- Sketches
These are some sketches I did in 10 minutes. A friend gave me some drawing topics and I doodled.
- Back!
I’ve been pretty distracted but getting back in the swing of things. I am posting something simple today, a bear. I used lots of circles in his creation.
I am planning on taking a couple of creative type classes this summer and I may be taking on a commissioned illustration project! We’ll see how it goes.
- Happy Easter!
I made these little bunnies for the Easter card I sent out.
I hope everyone is having a great Easter weekend!
- Easter!
Ok, I am a little early but I have an Easter themed illustration to share.
I’m not sure if the little girl would be considered to be me. Her hair reminds me of Tiana’s hair from The Princess and the Frog, which was a very cute movie.
In other news, I have been following a couple of web comics and I am on the hunt for more here are a couple that you should look into.
Toodles!
Bad Machinery (A mystery comic involving elementary school children.)
Mythfits (a delightful love story between a robot and a unicorn.)
- Hiding Behind a Mask
I don’t draw cats often but yet, here is another.
This started out as a random doodle that I liked and then scanned. Honestly, i’m more particular to dogs than cats so maybe this is some subliminal message to myself, “I should be drawing a dog”. Though I think this could be a fun series of creatures with masks of other creatures…
I am telling myself that I must draw more humans. I have some work in progress humans. I will post them later.
In other news, it’s Monday. Gah.
- Bugs for a friend
My friend needed some images for a greeting card so I went ahead and created a butterfly and dragonfly for her. They aren’t too elaborate, but I like them!
It’s Friday. Thank goodness.
- Rawr!
My second cat. This time, it’s a big cat! A cheetah specifically. It took very long to create all the spots, but i think it looks good. I have been reproducing my hand drawn images into Illustrator but one of these days i will tackle Photoshop.
I think I am having issues with being patient with my drawing. It’s hard to be able to get in a groove when you’ve been working in the ‘creative’ field all day and to come home and work some more (mostly I want to avoid the computer). When i do get in that groove it feels nice.
I think for the next image I want to do something Easter themed! Or, if anyone has any suggestions feel free to comment… (echo, echo?)
- I’m back…
So after being neglectful to my duties, I am back. Trying to get in the groove again.
I tried to stylize her a bit more. I made her more slinky, very much like the Siamese cats in Lady and the Tramp. I’m considering adding a background. Have to develop it further. Maybe a tufted ottoman for her to sit on.
- Dallas World Aquarium
So I decided that I would to to the Dallas World Aquarium today to get some sketching in. I didn’t really sketch as much as I wanted to inside the place but going there was a treat.

Here are some sketches I did:

(I drew this guy’s head too wide… It’s actually pretty narrow.)One of my favorite animals in the Dallas World Aquarium is the three-toed sloth. It has this serene smile. It is as if it has not a care in the world, which is probably true, since it has no need to look for food or be scared of predators. I drew something silly to commemorate my favorite DWA animal.
Ok, that is all for now. I realize that i really want a wacom tablet. Time to save money!
- Happy Christmas!
Ok, ok, it’s been awhile since I have posted. I am easily distracted by work, food, sleep, etc.. I did manage to squeeze out one illustration! It was for my friend Michelle’s Christmas card. I drew her and her kitties relaxing in her chair.
I have decided that one of my New Year’s resolutions (besides the usual eat healthier, exercise more, emotional fulfillment) is that I will draw at least one thing a week and post it on my blog. The first steps to improvement are practice, practice, practice! So I will hold myself to it.
Enjoy the holidays everyone!
- Adam can Cook!
Hello! I wanted to share some illustrations I did for a cookbook for Adam. He is what you say… an aspiring cook and needed a bit of help. I have posted the title pages for each of the sections of the book.
I bound the book myself and did some embroidery for the cover. This was my first embroidery project ever so forgive my lack of skills.
Why the rat you say? Adam loves Pixar and I wanted to add Remy from Ratatouille as his helper chef.
I had a lot of fun illustrating this and Adam enjoyed it very much.
